Projects : Fiber Optic Cables : Kattegat 2 & 3 Fibre Optic Cable Project

   
     
Five Oceans Services was commissioned by Tele Danmark to install the Fibre Optic Link across Kattegat between Vestero, Leaso and Lyngsa, Jutland. The execution of the project took place in March 2001.

Five Oceans Services was also commissioned by Tele Danmark to install a Fibre Optic Link between Moesgård and Tengslemark. The execution of the project took place in November 2000.

Both projects were carried out using the CLV Sea Spider and the TROV Smartjet 1150 as the trenching tool. The achieved trenching depth was 1 meter.

In order to successfully complete the Kattegat 2 & 3 Fibre Optic Cable Project, Five Oceans Services utilized specialized cable equipment. The equipment utilized included, but was not limited to:

  • Cable loading equipment
  • Cable lay equipment
  • Cable burial equipment

In addition to the above, dedicated support equipment such as high accurate positioning systems (DGPS and USBL), as well as typical inspection and monitoring equipment ensured that a high level of confidence was achieved and maintained throughout the project.
